Green Lantern is a superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name - Green Lantern. The film released worldwide on 17th June, 2011. Indian theaters are also featured with this movie.

Story of Green Lantern talks about the scene of millions of years before the Earth was formed. There was a group beings called the Guardians of the universe. It creates Green Lantern Corps from the use of green essence of willpower. Green Lantern Corps was an intergalactic police force.
The group splits the universe into 3600 sectors with one Green Lantern each sector. Abin Sur from sector 2814 was the strongest Green Lantern among all. He defeated Parallax, the ultimate being of fear and imprisoned him in the lost sector – 666.
In the present scenario, Parallax escapes from his prison. He kills 4 Green Lantern and destroys two planets. Now, he attacks Sector 2814 and wounds Abin Sur. He escapes on the Earth to save his life. Now, Abin Sur searches a worthy successor on the earth who may command his ring.
